**St Edward’s School, Cheltenham Celebrates Exceptional GCSE Results for 2024**
St Edward’s School, Cheltenham, is proud to announce the outstanding GCSE results achieved by our Year 11 students this year. Our headline figures are as follows:
22% of students achieved 10 or more GCSEs at grade 7 and above
15% of all grades were Grade 9
31% of all grades were Grade 9-8
45% of all grades were Grade 9-7
These results mark an important milestone in our students’ academic journeys, bringing them one step closer to fulfilling their aspirations. We are delighted that the hard work, resilience, and determination of our students have been rewarded with such excellent outcomes.
The achievements of our students reflect the true spirit of St Edward’s—a community built on collective effort, where every member plays a vital role in our success. Today, we celebrate not only the academic successes of our Year 11 students but also the remarkable young people they have
become. Their achievements go beyond grades; they embody the values that will support them in their future endeavors, placing them in the strongest position as they move forward.
Matthew Burke, Head of St Edward’s, shared his pride in the students and the entire school community:
*"When I arrived at St Edward’s, we were faced with the unprecedented challenges of COVID-19, which significantly impacted the start of these students' senior education. Despite these challenges, we have worked together to raise expectations and outcomes, and I am delighted that this hard work continues to bear fruit today. This week's and last week's results are a fitting culmination of our collective efforts and are the perfect way for me to sign off as Head of this phenomenal school. I have every confidence that our students will go on to achieve even greater things in whatever fields they choose to pursue. My deepest thanks go to the fantastic staff here at St Edward’s, who always give their best for every child. It has been an absolute pleasure to lead them and this wonderful school."*
As we reflect on today’s success, we are reminded that the journey of education at St Edward’s is about more than just academics. It is about shaping individuals who are not only prepared for the challenges of the future but who also embody the values of integrity, compassion, and resilience.
