Once part of St Edward's, always part of the story
We are very proud of our history, and even prouder of the people who have shaped it.
St Edward’s was created in 1987 when two long-established Cheltenham schools, Charlton Park School for Girls and Whitefriars School for Boys, came together. In its early years, the School was divided into First, Middle and Senior Sections before being restructured into Junior and Senior Sections in 1995.
But the story of St Edward’s is about much more than buildings, dates and changes to the School. It is about people.
Every pupil who has walked through our doors has left their own mark on St Edward’s, just as the School has played its part in shaping who they became. Whether your time here was many decades ago or only recently, you are part of our story and part of a community that we hope will stay with you throughout your life.
Your memories of St Edward’s will be uniquely yours, but there are also experiences, friendships, traditions and moments that we share. We want to celebrate those connections and create opportunities for former pupils to reconnect with one another and with the School.
Staying connected
We are building a growing St Edward’s alumni community, bringing together former pupils wherever life has taken them.
Through our alumni community, we hope to:
- reconnect old friends and classmates
- share news, memories and stories from across the years
- create opportunities to return to School and revisit familiar places
- bring alumni together through events and activities
- celebrate the achievements and journeys of our former pupils
- create opportunities for alumni to support and inspire the next generation of St Edward’s pupils.
Whether you left St Edward’s last year or many years ago, you will always have a place here.
Our aim is simple: to create a warm, lasting community where former pupils can stay connected with each other and with St Edward’s, wherever they are in the world and whatever stage of life they are in.
