St Edward's at a glance:

Tucked away behind its unassuming gates, St Edward’s sits on 20 acres of beautiful school grounds, with an additional 40 acres of sports fields just along London Road — the perfect environment for pupils to learn, play, and grow.

Our historic site, Charlton Park, was once a hunting lodge belonging to Edward the Confessor (1003–1066), giving our school a unique sense of heritage and charm.

St Edward’s has a tradition of nurturing exceptional talent. Our alumni include multi-award-winning actor Josh O’Connor, celebrated for his portrayal of Prince Charles in Netflix’s The Crown, and soon to be starring in the third Knives Out movie, alongside many others who have gone on to excel in all walks of life.

In January 2022, St Edward’s joined Alpha Schools, one of the UK’s leading independent school groups, opening the door to unprecedented opportunities for long-term stability, growth, innovation, and excellence.

Our pursuit of excellence has been widely recognised: in 2024–25 we were shortlisted for the Independent School of the Year at the Education Today School and Supplier Awards for outstanding academic outcomes, pastoral support and community impact.

Together, these strengths make St Edward’s a place where pupils are supported to flourish academically, socially and personally — ready for the opportunities ahead.
