Life in Lower School (Year 7-8) is all about embracing new challenges and making the most of all the activities on offer at St Edward’s. All students are afforded the space and support required to allow them to thrive in our busy, but unpressurised environment.

The Lower School Curriculum

At St Edward’s, our Lower School offers a broad and inspiring curriculum that allows pupils to explore their interests, discover new talents, and develop a love of learning.

From the very first year, children are encouraged to be curious, resilient, and enthusiastic, building the skills and confidence they need to become independent learners and high performers.

Our students enjoy a rich variety of experiences alongside core subjects, including swimming, drama, cookery, computing, modern languages, and a wide range of sports. These opportunities not only nurture creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork but also help every pupil uncover their unique strengths as they move through the school.

Learning at St Edward’s is never just about books — it’s about discovering what you love, trying new things, and achieving more than you thought possible!

Achieving Greatness

Academic achievement will always be at the heart of what we do, however, of equal importance, is the support for personal fulfilment and growth. Lower School students are actively encouraged to make the most of all the Co-curricular options available to them.
