Senior Drama

Over the past few weeks, Niamh M (Upper Sixth) has been hard at work, perfecting her directing skills as she embarks on producing her own version of Dennis Kelly’s ‘DNA’. The play explores the themes of bullying, gang membership, social responsibility, morality and leadership – making it relevant to today’s communities and society.

The production has also been directed, produced and performed solely by our students, with Niamh at the helm. Adding her own keen eye for detail and dramatic flair, Niamh has directed the play to be performed within the fantastic grounds at St Edward’s Senior School, with the audience moving alongside the cast as they take them on a journey of discovery and into characters’ lives. This has been a wonderful opportunity for our students to take part in a play which challenges their understanding of staging, setting and gaining an understanding behind what it takes to stage a production.

The play will be performed on Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th May at 7pm; to book tickets, please go online.

We wish Niamh, the crew and cast all the best of luck in the production in a few weeks’ time!
