The Road to Wimbledon

The Road to Wimbledon

Each year, St Edward’s Lower School pupils take part in the LTA Tennis For Britain ‘Road to Wimbledon Tennis Challenge’.

The biggest junior tournament in British tennis, the competition gives all U14 players the opportunity to engage and play the sport.

The Senior School Sport Department have been holding the first stage of the competition this week, with all Lower School pupils taking part in fun, sociable games.

Congratulations to our School competition winners Ioana N (Year 8) and Will C (Year 9) who played against Isi F (Year 9) and Jack B (Year 9) in the finals. All four players will now go on to compete in the County Finals in July. County Final winners are then invited to compete in the National Finals, played on the world-famous grass courts at Wimbledon.

Well done to all our pupils who took part in the Road to Wimbledon and good luck to our competitors as they look to progress through the competition and hopefully make the National Finals!
