SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS Charity

With sunny skies over the front lawn, it was great to see our teachers and students running laps of the front lawn as part of a charity run in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.

Miss Coleman, our Sports Assistant will soon be running on behalf of the charity in the London Marathon, and so we all wanted to demonstrate our support and help her to raise as much money as possible for this very worthy cause.

In total our School Community ran an amazing total of 2,115 laps around the front lawn, equating to 528.75km, a total of 12.5 marathons! A breakdown of laps run by Year group is below:

  • Year 7 – 440 laps (108.25km)
  • Year 8 – 484 laps (121km)
  • Year 9 – 641 laps (160.25km)
  • Year 10 – 102 laps (25.5km)
  • Year 11 – 66 laps (16.5km)
  • Sixth Form – 95 laps (23.75km)
  • Staff  – 287 laps (71.75 km)

A huge well done to all who took part and lots of luck to Miss Coleman when she takes on the challenge of the Marathon itself in October!
