This week, our Lower Sixth Business students were very busy preparing to pitch an innovative and unique idea to a panel of ‘dragons’.
The task was to deliver a product with a business plan which contained market research, financial planning and the target audience. The goal was to encourage students to understand USPs, the complexity of setting up a business and the different areas involved.
Four groups pitched their ideas with the products ranging from a student-led newsletter from Billy M and Sam S, a crystal candle titled ‘Sensualwik’ by Mia B and Shaniqua M, a personalised sock company called ‘B-sox’ by Harry B and Ollie R and finally, a heated spoon-knife named ‘Spife4Life’ by Maria O and Libby R.
Each group impressed the panel with their confidence, skills of persuasion and unique ideas; each also wanting to create a product which was eco-friendly and sustainable, reflected in their choice of packaging and materials. After their presentation, each group was judged on several categories ranging from marketing to having ‘wow’ factor.
We can certainly see these young entrepreneurs taking the business world by storm in the future!
