As our Year 7 students settle into St Edward’s life, our brilliant Librarian, Mrs McIsaac-Bailey, has been creating innovative ways to grow students’ passion for Shakespeare.
The aim was to guess if the quote was from Shakespeare or a rapper, which caused a lot of gasps and laughter (who thought a rapper would eloquently declare ‘to destroy the beauty from which one came’). The students all thoroughly enjoyed guessing quote origins and were fascinated to hear about the evolution of prose and poetry.
The lesson was a creative take on learning about the Bard and it was fantastic to see the Year 7 students grow in confidence when rapping their lines!
