Mr Burke, St Ed’s Headmaster, along with 60 other intrepid philanthropic local leaders, spent a cold January night sleeping rough raising awareness and over £40,000 for Caring for Communities and People. St Ed’s has a long history of supporting the work of CCP, a local charity, whose aim is to prevent the causes and reduce the effects of homelessness, but even Mr Burke conceded this was one of his greatest charitable endeavours “A tough challenge given weather conditions but one that is nothing compared to the experiences on a daily basis of those people who the money is being raised for.”
