On 10th November, Daisy from the Full Throttle rowing team came to St Edward’s to talk about the crew’s challenge of rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic as part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. Wanting to be as sustainable as possible, the team decided to cycle the whole of Spain to get to their starting point of La Gomera where they have spent the past two weeks preparing the boat for the crossing. Today, Monday 12th December, they are finally embarking on their voyage! As a School we raised over £500 for their chosen charities: Maggies, Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Ukraine branch of World Vision and CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). As a result, our school logo will be traveling with them across the Atlantic as they embark on a truly epic adventure.
You can see them launching this morning here, and to track their journey, download the YB Races App.
