Choosing the right sixth form is an important step for you as you embark on the final stage of formal education before moving to University or Art College or taking a gap year or even starting work. Whatever path you take these next two years should be enjoyable and stimulating. You will want to choose subjects that you are good at and that will stretch you, in preparation for the skills and knowledge you will need to fulfil your future plans.
We believe our Sixth Form is a special place to spend these two years. You will enjoy exceptionally small classes where specialist and enthusiastic teachers will be able to focus on you and your needs to ensure you get the very best possible results.
As a member of the Sixth Form you can expect an excellent range of facilities including dedicated Sixth Form science labs, art and photography studios, a Sixth Form Café and a Careers and Higher Education Centre. There is a regular programme of external lectures covering topics in the arts, science, politics and the media. These are enhanced by weekly discussions which focus on philosophy and ethics.
You will be expected to develop your leadership skills by working with the younger members of the school community, perhaps in a play or sports coaching or you may take on the role of House Captain, Prefect or Head Girl or Head Boy.
For more information please contact Mrs P Gammond, Registrar tel +44 (0) 1242 538600.
You will find a very wide range of activities to get involved in from sport, music and drama to CCF, Duke of Edinburgh, debating, community service and Young Enterprise.
Whatever you choose to do here you will be in a School with an ethos that will encourage and support you to work hard, where we provide first-rate teaching and exceptional pastoral care to give you every opportunity to succeed and most importantly to leave here having made life-time friends and many happy memories.
