SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS Biology

Year 11 enjoyed a fantastically interesting practical Biology lesson this week, looking into the structure of the eye.

The students dissected sheep eyes in small groups, examining the different tissues present and locating the structures critical to the function of the organ such as the cornea, retina, iris and optic nerve.

Lessons such as this provide excellent opportunity to consolidate the theoretical knowledge that the students have been learning, such as how the lens works by changing shape and how the shape of the lens can affect short-sightedness or long-sightedness.
