This week, as part of their topic work focussing on themselves and their environment, Reception children spoke about woodland animals in their Forest School sessions. They then continued to think about the animals that might be found in the woods with owl-themed classroom activities.

As well as playing with toy owls and making nests for their eggs and owlets, the children practised their counting skills with bird worksheets, tested their fine motor skills with ‘conker counting’ and got creative in the craft corner depicting the characters from the book ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell with feathers and paint.
