Learning about ourselves is a fundamental part of childhood development. As term has just begun it’s the perfect time for Pre-School Hazel to get to know each other a little better, with their topic ‘All About Me’.

This week, the children have been talking about things that make them different to each other, with a focus on the word of the week ‘Unique’. The class were then tasked with noticing things that they have in common, and which make them the same.

They have also spent time thinking about themselves. Drawing self-portraits was a fantastic way to spark conversations about facial features with the children prompted to use as many descriptive words as they could.

Last week, the children focussed on family. They discussed the different types of families and the people in their lives who are special to them, as well as making collages of their homes.
