3W have been learning about the earliest part of pre-history – The Stone Age. They discovered some interesting facts about the Palaeolithic period and what the earliest humans may have looked like. They then learnt that these early humans were known as ‘cavemen’, and looked at some of the objects that have been discovered in caves and dated back to this time.

In the photograph of the artefacts, they spotted a deer antler, flint (used to light fires), the remains of a fire and markings made by cavemen on the walls. The class then had a go at creating their own mini ‘artefact’ by using a range of tools to carve some prehistoric animals into soap.
