The UK saves 18,000 tonnes of CO2 a year by recycling. That’s the same environmental impact as taking 12 million cars off the road. But, research has shown that 55% of households are still putting recyclable items in the bin.

Not-for-profit company Wrap started Recycle Week in celebration of recycling and to encourage the households to recycle more of the right things, more often.

The Pre-Prep Department decided to get involved during their classes this week and discuss recycling with their pupils and incorporate recycled items into their activities where possible.

Reception children have merged their ‘letter of the day’ activities with the concept and have recycled old wrapping paper to create ‘n’ shaped collages and Year 1 made frogs out of old yogurt pots.
