Year 4 packed their school bags and boarded the coach to Bath this week. Their destination? The American Museum. With a remarkable collection of folk and decorative arts, the Museum showcases the diverse nature of American traditions.

The pupils were given opportunities to make contact with real objects from the lives of the Native Americans who lived hundreds of years ago, before the time of the European settlers. Context to the Museum’s collection was given by a very interesting guided tour of the Native American exhibition and a fascinating talk by the Museum’s Education Officer. This helped the pupils to make links to the real lives, stories and places from which the various exhibits originated.

After a lovely sunny picnic lunch in the sumptuous grounds, the children were given the opportunity to weaving their own pot!

The group were complimented on their excellent behaviour, manners and smart appearance on several occasions, making their teachers very proud!
