On Tuesday morning children in Pre-School set out to explore the school woodland as part of their time in Forest School. They took part in a range of activities including their favourite one – building on the construction site, where they made cement out of soil, sand, and water which they used to stick their bricks together.

Spending time in the outdoors is a great way to develop resilient, confident, independent and creative learners. These sessions are also a great way to allow the children to ground themselves and improve their well-being. During their time in the woods the children also made ‘tree people’ by whittling sticks, adding a face and a hat with paint to complete their models.

They finished their morning outside with some sweet treats – hot chocolate and Jaffa Cakes!
