In this week’s RE lessons Year 3 have been learning about Holy Week, having focussed in previous weeks on Palm Sunday and Maundy Thursday.

This week they learnt about Good Friday and Jesus’ death on the cross. They considered why it is called ‘Good Friday’, despite it being a sad day, and they learnt that the cross is a symbol of Christianity. The children recognised that when we pray, we make the sign of the cross. They also saw that crosses can be found on the end of a rosary and on hot cross buns!

To round off the lesson they made some beautiful representations of stained glass crosses which are now on display in the windows of the Year 3 classrooms.
