St Edward’s Senior & Sixth Form were very proud to receive a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award this week.
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
Silver Award holders must demonstrate a number of positive measures and policies in their organisations which actively support members of the Armed Forces community. This includes veterans, Reservists, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and their families.
Headmaster, Matthew Burke commented: ‘We are delighted to have received the ERS Silver Award. Both current personnel, veterans of the forces and their families are a valued part of the St Edward’s community and we look forward to further strengthening our relationships into the future.’
