Years 7, 8 and 9 have been taking part in online Maths competitions using the ‘Sum Dog’ platform this term. The rounds are completed during their normal Maths lessons and provide a fun way to practise skills learnt throughout the year.
Accessible to all levels, the system is adaptive and tailors the questions to suit the ability of the contestant as they progress through the competition. Our students compete against both their classmates and their year group, depending on the task. Points are awarded for both accuracy and speed and the top three students from each set are awarded points for their House every week.
We are two weeks in and students that have won points for their Houses so far include:
Year 7 – Freddie W, Leo P, Oliver B, Leah B, Esther E, Jacob M, Hattie S, Lola F-G, Felix R.
Year 8 – Jack B, Tom S, Darcy F, Victor R, Thomas D, Elliot G, Ethan T, Louis W, William C.
Year 9 – Megan S, Mia L, Charles M, Isabel J, Oliver D, Hugo B, Mia G, Minte L, Sara McK.
Well done all!
