Just before the Christmas break, our Modern Foreign Languages Department introduced their new Italian Club, which saw both students and staff come together to start learning the Italian language.
As this was during the lead up to Christmas, those who attended were taught Italian vocabulary and also general introductions to do with the festive season.
The club was led by our Year 12 Modern Foreign Languages Prefect, Venetia, who took on the role of teacher to both pupils and her usual A Level teachers.
The first session was well attended and, as it coincided with one of the students celebrating their birthday, there was also time to learn, and sing, Happy Birthday in Italian (Tanti auguri a te) to them.
Italian Club is continuing during the Spring Term and we look forward to seeing how the students progress and develop their Italian language skills as the weeks go by.
