Students from St Edward’s Senior & Sixth Form visited St Rose’s School in Stroud on Monday afternoon to perform a number of songs and spread some festive cheer.
Pupils from Year 7, 8, 9 and 12 were joined by staff to share some early Christmas celebrations, performing pieces on the clarinet and piano, as well as singing Christmas carols. There was also a visit from Santa, who gave presents to the St Rose’s students.
The children at St Rose’s have a range of physical disabilities, as well as sensory, learning and communication difficulties, and it was an absolute pleasure for our students to be able to offer them an afternoon of entertainment.
It was a lovely surprise for the St Edward’s pupils to also have a chance to enjoy some of the pieces that the St Rose’s students had been preparing to perform at their own Christmas Carol Service. There was an opportunity to join in and learn some Makaton sign language.
It was a wonderful afternoon for students from both schools to join together and share in Christmas festivities.
