Our Year 8 students thoroughly enjoyed a performance by The Watermill Ensemble of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in our Main Hall this afternoon.

The Ensemble are currently touring the UK with their modern adaptation, providing audiences with a fresh and contemporary take on the famous Shakespearean comedy.

The company of four actors transformed seamlessly into various different roles, using props to add more characters to the action. They also fused their acting with music, with different characters moving to play instruments.

The opportunity for our students to have a work they are currently studying brought to life on stage in such an innovative and imaginative way will no doubt prove to be most useful in helping them to understand and enjoy the language of Shakespeare.
