A group of Key Stage 3 pupils have achieved considerable success in the UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge. 13 Computing students from St Edward’s have succeeded in securing places at the annual Oxford Computing Challenge.
This first part of the Challenge, which is the Computer Science equivalent to the Maths Challenge, saw over 35,000 children take part in an attempt to win a place at the Oxford competition, with only the top 10% in line to receive an invitation.
This is the first year that St Edward’s has taken part in the competition and we are delighted that so many of our pupils, from a range of year groups, have been invited to progress on to the next stage in the competition.
Our four representatives from Year 7, three from Year 8 and six from Year 9, will be testing their Computing skills against the best in the country at the next event in March. We look forward to sharing news of how they get on in the Spring.
