Sport St Edward’s had a very successful day on Tuesday when the U15 girls won the ISA Midlands Hockey Tournament.

The Team finished top of their group with two wins and a draw, progressing to the semi-finals against Lucton School.

The St Edward’s team defended and attacked together superbly, with Olivia B scoring a hat-trick and Hannah L and Lucia P scoring to seal a comprehensive 6-0 win a and securing a place in the final.

The final, against Twycross School, was a competitive match where the defence of  Maddie H, Alessia C, Sophie E and Mackenzie J worked hard to put pressure on the opposition, forcing the game to be played in the attacking half of the pitch.

Molly A, Hannah L and Olivia B worked brilliantly together to dispossess Twycross’ dangerous player and creating great turnovers to help initiate attacks. Goals from Olivia and then Hannah sealed a hard-fought 2-0 win where the girls worked as a solid team to achieve the win.

A special mention to goalkeeper, Alice O, who did not let one goal through during the whole tournament! Also to our Year 9 players who played up an age group, Hannah, Lucia and Lovisa J.

A fantastic result for our talented Hockey players!
