The whole of St Edward’s Senior & Sixth Form gathered together on Monday morning for a special Service of Remembrance, held in the Main Hall.

Organised and led by St Edward’s CCF, students sang the hymn ‘Abide with Me’ and heard moving readings from two of the Contingent’s Cadets. Our Headmistress, Mrs Clayfield, along with Sgt James A, laid wreaths on behalf of the school and Contingent.

Cdt Arabella N read the poem ‘Bournemouth: September 3rd 1939’ by Anthony Thwaite and Ssgt Gemma M read ‘We Will Remember’. Mr Wapshott played the ‘The Last Post’ and ‘Reveille’ beautifully on the trumpet.

Our CCF were also honoured to participate in the Remembrance Parade, held in the centre of Cheltenham, on Sunday. They were extremely proud to be the only CCF Contingent present and valued the opportunity to pay tribute to all those who have lost their lives through conflict.
