On Tuesday, pupils from St Edward’s Prep School gathered at Sacred Hearts Church in Charlton Kings to celebrate the start of the new academic year with Mass taken by our School Chaplain, Fr Pat.

Children in Years 3-6 were able to look forward to the term ahead and reflected on the importance of using their own unique gifts to their fullest potential.

They also considered the need to listen to each other and act upon other’s needs, both in school and at home.

Fr Pat also mentioned Mary, mother of Jesus, as her birthday fell on Sunday 8th September, and spoke of the sacrifices she made to bring Jesus into the world.

The Mass was a warm and celebratory occasion where pupils were able to join together in looking forward to the prospect of an exciting, busy and fruitful term ahead.
