This academic year, pupils at the Prep School are helping to raise money for the Sue Ryder Hospice based in Leckhampton.

Prior to the half-term break a representative from the Hospice came to speak in assembly about the work that they do around Gloucestershire and how St Edward’s have contributed to their fundraising over recent years.

Today it was our turn to make a visit and Year 6 spent the morning in Leckhampton, learning more about the vital contribution Sue Ryder makes in supporting people through the most difficult times of their lives.

During their visit, the children took part in an art therapy session, had an introduction from the Director about the history of the building and the charity, and also enjoyed a tour of the Hospice and its grounds.

It was a hugely inspirational experience for our pupils who gained a much greater understanding of how charities can make a massive difference to people’s lives.
