Two year groups from St Edward’s Prep School visited Cadbury World last week to learn more about chocolate, how it is manufactured and how it gets from ‘bean to bar’.

Year 2 pupils visited the chocolate paradise on Thursday and the Year 3s attended on Friday.

There was a very interesting and interactive talk which helped both groups of children to understand more about the process of chocolate making. They enjoyed seeing the uniforms that chocolate makers wear and learning about the history of Cadbury through a 4D cinema experience.

Our pupils were also able to handle real chocolate moulds to see how the different bars are created and found out about where the ingredients originate from around the world.

There was also time for the children to write their names in chocolate and to attempt tempering chocolate in its melted form, with the opportunity to dress-up as chocolatiers as well!

The trip ensured that the year groups gained a great deal of valuable knowledge that they will be able to put to good use as they continue with their “chocolate” topic work.
