This week, pupils in Kindergarten and Pre-School were very excited to welcome their family members into the classrooms to join in with two afternoons of Easter-themed crafting.

The children and their visitors all enjoyed the opportunity to make a number of seasonal items including Playdough Easter gems, Easter iced biscuits, Easter wreaths, tissue paper chicks, Easter themed cup-cakes and bird feeders

Head of Kindergarten, Mrs Young, said of the afternoons “One of the great benefits of our parent craft afternoons is the partnership approach between parents and teachers. Young children flourish when they see the important people in their lives working together. Research has shown that one of the most important factors affecting a child’s development is parental involvement as it is this vital element that ensures the children feel safe and secure whilst meeting their full potential.”

Certainly all who attended agreed that it was an enjoyable occasion, allowing children and adults alike to be creative and work together to make some lovely decorations to take home and enjoy over the Easter break.
