This week has seen many netball matches take place at St Edward’s, providing not only great enjoyment but some great success as well.

Tuesday saw the U12 A and B sides win fixtures at home against Bowbridge School 16-10 and 10-5 respectively. The U13 A side also played against Bowbridge, winning a resounding 16-1 in their match.

On Wednesday, St Edward’s hosted a Senior Tournament for the A and B girls’ netball teams, with three games taking place simultaneously during the afternoon. St Edward’s finished joint-first of the mini-tournament that saw fast-paced, short round-robin games taking place against other teams including Kingham Hill School, Kings School, Ribston Hall and Balcarras.

This week also saw many netball fixtures taking place involving children from St Edward’s Prep School. The teams, varying from U8s all the way up to U11s, won nine, drew two and lost six with victories over schools including Berkhampstead and Cheltenham College. The main aim of the week being to get everyone involved in playing and, more importantly, enjoying netball – an aim that was most definitely achieved.

Including both home and away fixtures, an amazing 29 matches took place involving St Edward’s teams in what was a bumper week of netball.

A special mention goes to the U9 team who played extremely well to finish second out of six teams at the Cricklade Manor Prep Netball Festival. A great effort from all involved.
