In their Art lessons this term, students in Year 7 and 8 at St Edward’s have been learning about composition and impact.

Students were initially given a selection of shells, from which they chose an effective composition to work from, which was set as a rock pool. From their rock pool they were tasked with making a large charcoal drawing focussing on achieving impact, followed by a more intricate watercolour painting.

This tested a large range of skills, but, as you can see from the impressive results, our young artists were more than capable of fulfilling the brief, creating some truly beautiful and unique pieces of art.
