Reception pupils at St Edward’s Prep became explorers this week as they continued their journey around the world on a magic carpet!

The children all put on their warm outdoor clothes and went on a mini expedition around the school grounds, complete with sledges and a supply of hot chocolate! The children have so far “visited” the Arctic and the Antarctic, and have been encouraged to think about the animals that live there, the differences in the climate to that of the UK and how things survive in colder places. They are also learning about the importance of being observant and trying to spot interesting things as they are out and about.

The expedition was just one way in which the Reception classes are learning about the natural world and gaining an understanding of living things and the environment around them.
