Congratulations to the boys who competed in the ISA Midlands Athletics Championships on Wednesday 4th June at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham and achieved 8 top three places.

Isobel will be at Sadlers Wells
Isobel Powell LVIth, has been offered a junior apprenticeship with The Hofesh Shecter Dance Company and will be performing with the Company at Sadlers Wells in August. Hofesh is an internationally renowned choreographer (he choreographed the opening sequences of ‘Skins’ - Channel 4).

Public Speaking Success
The Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts is taking place in the Town Hall during May, and many pupils of St Edward’s are entering the various classes in dance, music, or drama. The School entered three teams in the Public Speaking Classes which were held on Tuesday evening. In the 14 to 18 yr old class Alex Chan, Kit Stoddart and Ed Cowan were up against three other teams from other local schools.

Ten Tors Completed
Well done to all those who took part in the Ten Tors Challenge 2008, over the weekend, the timings, which included the overnight camp, were outstanding. The teams displayed courage commitment, grit and determination; the team captains led by example and showed excellent leadership qualities.

1908 Cheltenham Rugby League
On Friday 2nd May the Yr 8 boys participated in the inaugural 1908 Cup, played between 8 local schools.

Debating Society Final
Last Thursday the semi-finals and finals of the Staff v Students competition were held in the Library, before a rapt audience of students, staff and parents. Charlie Coldicott ably chaired this titanic struggle, aided by Jamie Close as time-keeper.

Just before the two week Easter break, the Zambia Group went off to North Wales to carry out their expedition training.

Chamber Choir at Clifton Cathedral
On the 30th of March, the chamber choir set off at 8:30 am on a minibus driven, to the horror of all involved, by Mr Todd (who had passed his minibus driving test only days before).

Eight of our senior boys took part in the Gloucestershire U18 Rugby Sevens held at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital grounds in Bristol on Thursday 6th March.
