Art
Art has become a major strength of St Edward's - every year the vast majority of our A-level Art students get A grades in both Fine Art and Photography, as do our GCSE Art students. Very few other schools can equal these results. Click here for further details.
Our Art facilities have grown rapidly to cope with the increasing number of students taking the subject, and 2008 saw the opening of three new Art studios, including a dedicated Photography room. These were created out of our former Refectory which has now been replaced by the new Abbott Building - see Developments for the full details.
This year we have started offering Textiles as a further A-level option, alongside Fine Art and Photography. Some students may be planning to go on to Art College - for others it Art is a creative subject to add to their more cerebral ones.
The Art Department is led by Mr Alan Richardson, together with Miss Rachel Hayward, Mrs Fiona Richardson, Mrs Sarah Tradgett, and our Artist in Residence, Miss Catherine Fraser, who is also the department's technician.
