Young Enterprise

Young Enterprise is a scheme in which students form a registered company to make and market a product. The students take on the roles of directors and workers and meet weekly so that they can check the progress of the marketing, sales, production and finance departments. They aim to make a profit and issue a dividend to their shareholders at the end of the year. Companies enter the regional competition held each year at Cheltenham Race Course in February.

The purpose of Young Enterprise is for students to develop team-working, communication and presentation skills in the realistic and fun setting of operating a business, with the potential for a profitable outcome.

This year has seen outstanding success for the St.Edward's Young Enterprise team: our company 'Sapphire Designs' swept the board when they competed against 22 other schools in Gloucestershire at the Young Enterprise Trade Exhibition in March and were named as overall event winners. They then went on to the Area Final Presentations in May where they were again the winners and will now go on to the National competition later this summer.
