Young Enterprise

Young Enterprise is a scheme in which students form a registered company to make and market a product. The students take on the roles of directors and workers and meet weekly so that they can check the progress of the marketing, sales, production and finance departments. They aim to make a profit and issue a dividend to their shareholders at the end of the year. Companies enter the regional competition held each year at Cheltenham Race Course in February.

The purpose of Young Enterprise is for students to develop team-working, communication and presentation skills in the realistic and fun setting of operating a business, with the potential for a profitable outcome. The students have professional guidance from Link Advisers from the firm Spirax Sarco whose headquarters are very close to the school.

This year's YE company is Ed-iT, making a selection of products including Christmas decorations, which sold very well, coasters and bags.
