The DofE Award is a popular activity in the school and students can either do the scheme through the CCF or as a non-CCF participant. There is a Bronze, Silver and Gold level available and we offer all three. It does take time and dedication from the participant but merits the reward at the end.

Bronze expedition - Cotswolds |
All three levels have four sections that are to be completed as directed by the Award’s governing body. They are Volunteering, Skill, Physical Recreation and an expedition. At the prestigious Gold level they also have to complete a five day residential, experiencing living and working alongside others from outside their own friendship, school award groups. More details of what is required at each level can be found by looking at the Award website - http://www.dofe.org/

Silver expedition - Scotland |

Gold expedition - River Severn |
*Year 9 pupils are able to complete their expedition section with their peers, allowing for early and late age requirement being attained. The other sections however cannot be completed prior to the time guidelines. |
|
At Gold level we also offer the expedition to be completed by canoe, this does however require some extra training weekends to attain the skill level and safety requirements. They would have to achieve a recognised BCU award level as part of this.
|
Silver expedition - Dartmoor |
Those that go onto achieve the Gold Award are then invited to receive their award from a member of the royal family, all depending on their public duties. This will be at one of the royal palaces. |
Bronze expedition - Cotswolds |
Other activities are offered, arranged and available to students within the school from first aid training and qualification to National Navigation Award Scheme levels. This is all dependent on the uptake and other activities available within the school.
