CCF Ski Trip - Fieberbrunn, Austria

Incorporated into the CCF training programme are adventurous training activities such as mountain/hill walking, canoe/kayaking, climb/abseiling and skiing. The CCF runs a summer activity for a week (either in the UK or overseas) and its own annual ski trip to Austria during February half term. These activities are available to all cadets and where possible assistance is obtained from the MOD.

Navigation Training - Dartmoor

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is offered to all cadets and they register for this in their first year. The CCF syllabus is complimentary towards the award and assists cadets greatly in completing the relevant sections, giving them a slight edge over the non-CCF participants.

Kayaking - River Findhorn, Scotland

The contingent has a variety of staff that hold National Governing Body and Joint Service Military leader/assessor qualifications that enable us to offer the variety. This also enables cadets to achieve National Governing Body Certificates in competencies from the likes of the National Navigation Award Scheme, British Canoe Union and Snowsport England.

Scrambling in Austria and Climbing in Scotland

Once cadets move year 11 and achieve the age of sixteen, they then have the opportunity to attend courses offered by the Cadet Centre of Adventurous training (CCAT) where they are able to achieve Military Foundation course qualifications in mountain walking, canoeing, climbing and even caving.

Canoeing - River Findhorn, Scotland

Skiing area - St. Johann, Austria
