Drill - Cadet 150 parade

The CCF promotes and encourages the qualities of responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefulness and a sense of service to the community. The contingent was established in 2002 with an Army and RAF section, and is supported by the MOD as well as the school. It is a voluntary after school activity and allows pupils that join to experience an introduction to available military subjects.

Summer Central Camp - Warcop

All cadets take part in a joint service training programme following the syllabi applicable to their sections. This involves basic military skills during the first eighteen months and then advanced subject matter for the remainder of their time. At the end of the cadets first year they are expected to attend a CCF central camp (always the first week of the summer holiday) to consolidate the basic syllabus.

Weapon Handling and Safety - LSW range day

On starting Year 11 the cadets do an Instructional techniques cadre, and then work on becoming instructors to the younger cadets. At the same time as covering more advanced military subjects and developing their leadership qualities and skills.

Obstacle Course Training

There are numerous military subjects covered by the cadets from field craft and tactics, weapon training and safety, shooting and marksmanship principles, drill, navigation skills, obstacle course training, competitions, first aid awards, gliding and flying.
