How to Apply
Once you have visited the School and decided that St. Edward's is right for your son or daughter, please fill in an Application Form. There's one in the Prospectus or you can download one by clicking here. Please return it to us, together with the £50 registration fee.
Your son or daughter will then come and sit our Entrance Exam, which is held in late November.
If all has gone well, within a couple of weeks you will receive an offer of a firm place at St. Edward's. We ask you to accept the place by paying a £300 deposit, which is set against the fees for the final term of U6th (Yr 13). When we receive your deposit, the place for your child is secured. Once we reach our limit, later acceptances will be put on the waiting list.
Entrance to Years 8, 9 or 10 is by individual entrance tests and depend on whether we have room in the year group you require. We try to be flexible, but once a Year Group is full we cannot increase class sizes to take extra pupils. We do not normally accept pupils into Year 11.
Entrance to the Sixth Form is by interview at any time or the Scholarship Exam in November. Entrants must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above and preferably at least a grade B in subjects chosen for A-level. Applicants for Academic Scholarship should be predicted all A*/A grades at GCSE. Sport, Music, Drama and Art Scholarships are also available, and applicants come to the school individually for assessment.
