Dear Parents

I am writing to introduce myself and to wish you and your family a happy and fruitful year at St Edward’s Junior School.My wife and family of three daughters are settling well and are delighted to be part of the St Edward’s family.  St Edward’s Junior School has a lovely warm atmosphere with dedicated staff coupled with outstanding facilities in an environment that is a rare find for a junior school. I have been teaching for fifteen years and have been a Headteacher for the last seven years.  My doctoral interest is in ‘educational leadership for academic excellence’ which I will take up again once I have gained an in-depth knowledge of our school and in particular our  pupils.

I am very lucky to take over a school such as St Edward’s and I pay tribute to the leadership of Mr Mooney with the hard work of the staff, commitment of the Trustees and in particular the support of parents and PTA.  I know you will join me in wishing the Mooney family the very best over the next year as they prepare for their move to Malaysia.

Our school operates an open door policy for parents and this complements the spirit of St Edward’s as a friendly, open school that wants to be in partnership with you as parents.  We also of course, pay due regard to arranged appointments when more time and consideration needs to be given to your ideas or concerns, bearing in mind the very busy schedules of our staff.

I trust you have received the calendar of events for the Autumn Term and I look forward to meeting you at various stages as the weeks progress.
