Leadership Thought of
the Week
'If we always do what
we've always done, we will get what we've always got.'

Dear Parents
Catholic Ethos Focus of the Week from the '28th Week in Ordinary
Time Mass'
Our Catholic Ethos Focus this week has been 'the sense of working together
to make a difference'. We enjoyed ice creams on Friday, organised by Mrs Watson
of which the proceeds will go to CAFOD (Catholic Overseas Development Agency)

Uniform for Girls
The option for girls to wear a blouse or a shirt and tie remains after
half-term. I am bringing in a long sleeve blouse option for girls and will
confirm when this will be available. In the meantime girls continue to have the
option of a blouse or shirt and tie.. I will update
parents on further developments in uniform provision following a full uniform
survey in the second half of the Autumn Term.
Year 1 Harvest Assembly and Open Door

Thanks to all our Parents and Grandparents who attended the Year 1 Harvest
Assembly. I want to thank the staff for the way the assembly was delivered. All
your children were amazing in their script work and songs. Well Done! We are so
thankful for the food donations that we have passed on to Open Door Cheltenham
providing much needed support for the relief of poverty, hardship and distress,
among persons of a rootless way of life.
Parental Survey
Thank you for completing the 'Parental Survey 1st Half
-Term 2011/12'. If you haven't managed to do so please complete by 6pm
tonight.
Breakfast Club
A reminder that as Breakfast Club is only used by a few
families, you must contact my secretary Mrs Williams by 4pm on the day prior to
coming. We offer fruit, cereal, toast, apple or orange juice. Please
ring the bell of the Manor House at 7.30am only if you have previously made a
booking, otherwise the facility will not be available on your day of choice.
Open Morning
Our Open Morning was a huge success and we thank our children for assisting
staff with the school tours. The school looked absolutely fantastic with
stimulating and interactive displays of our pupils' work. The workshops and
performances were excellent. A big thank you to our staff and
the PTA for their assistance with tea and coffee.
Absences
May I remind parents that any requests for absence, for whatever reason,
during term time must be made to me in writing, at least two weeks prior to the
event. If requests are not received in time, your
child's absence will be recorded as unauthorised. If your child is sick, please
telephone the school as soon as possible, and on their return confirm the
reason in writing to your child's Class Teacher.
Cross Country
Yesterday was such a wonderful day for the school as we welcomed over twenty
local schools for our popular cros country challenge.
Many parents from other schools were commenting on how impressed they were with
our grounds and facilities.
I wish you and your family a restful and enjoyable half-term!
Yours sincerely
