Kindergarten (1-4 years 11 months)

St. Edward's Junior School Kindergarten provides high quality nursery education for children. The Kindergarten is situated in a purpose-built setting, within the School grounds. The building is bright and spacious with an inviting atmosphere. It offers a dedicated baby unit, a nursery room and two pre-school classes. The children play in a safe, secure playground, with a separate area for the younger children. The children in Kindergarten benefit from regular "Welly Walks" experienceing the School's 40 acres of beautiful parkland.

Partnership between parents and Kindergarten is of paramount importance to us. The Kindergarten staff communicate with parents on a daily basis and parents are encouraged to work closely with the staff to be actively involved in their child's learning.

The Kindergarten was inspected in 2009 and received a glowing report highlighting our "outstanding links with parents" (ISI Interim Inspection 2009)..

The Kindergarten provides opportunities for Mums, Dads and Grandparents to experience the Kindergarten environment.

The vast majority of children in the Kindergarten make the move to the Reception classes of our Infant Department. There are very close links between the two departments, ensuring a smooth and happy transition for the children.

The Kindergarten also offers extra-curricular activities including Ballet, Monkey Music and Supa Strikers.
