Baby Unit - (1-2 ½ years)

Our Baby Bears Group consists of a bright and spacious room, which caters for and supports children’s learning through the “Birth to Three Matters Framework”. A well planned indoor and outdoor programme promotes young children’s development and supports the all round approach to learning, by providing choice and challenge. The Baby Bears room is filled with inspiring materials and equipment, laid out within the children’s reach. There is a quiet, calming area to enable the children to rest.

At St. Edward’s there is a key person in our Baby Bears Group. Communication is vital to our setting, and partnership with parents is of paramount importance. The key person will be responsible for sharing information through verbal communication and through the Baby Bears’ daily diary. The children have a safe and secure play area, which is situated within the Kindergarten’s main playground.

Staffing

Our staff are qualified nursery nurses, who will nurture and support the children’s development onto the next stage. All staff are qualified in Early Years first aid.
