As pupils progress through the Preparatory School, we work to ensure that they have a firm understanding of the core academic subjects and are capable of sharing and collaborating with their peers. This is achieved while still maintaining a broad curriculum of subjects including Computing, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, Drama and Technology.
In Years 4, 5 and 6 children are set into ability groups which reduces teaching group sizes to 14 on average. These group sizes enable pupils to be extended or supported as appropriate with many pupils completing tasks well ahead of the expected level.
The School’s forty five acres of parkland is used to full effect with pupils using the extensive lawns and woodland both for play, our forest schools programme and as a venue for all parts of the curriculum. The extensive facilities mean that a broad range of sporting activities from cross country to tennis tournaments are possible with pupils competing at local, regional and national level.
